![]() ![]() At the very least, a development update could give fans hope Metroid Prime 4 is still a priority for the company. Expectations should remain low for anything substantial, but if the Nintendo Switch Pro is announced soon, something could be in the works for E3 2021. It's been more than two years since the major Metroid Prime 4's change, but the game could be far enough along to show some gameplay on the rumored upgraded Nintendo Switch console. Since then, there has been no news regarding the game or its development. This change also came with the confirmation development on Metroid Prime 4 was to start from scratch. Metroid Prime 4 is due to be released on the Nintendo Switch, with the company looking to put a huge amount behind the game to help drive the first Prime title on the console. The reason for this was Nintendo's decision to change who was developing the title, and revealed Retro Studios, the team who developed the original Metroid Prime games, would now be working on this next installment with Tanabi. In January 2019, Nintendo announced that development had restarted under Retro Studios, developer of the previous Metroid Prime games. It was announced at E3 2017, and was reportedly initially developed by Bandai Namco Studios. So until Nintendo some around and confirmed the date, we're guessing this is a combo on Amazin putting down a fake date on a game they can't predict and their alarms going off when they didn't want them to. Metroid Prime 4 is an upcoming video game developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. While it doesn't hold the usual fake-date placeholder format Amazon usually sets of Christmas Day or some other weird holiday, it doesn't fit Nintendo's format of releasing it proper to the holiday or at least at a point in time where it would do Metroid Prime 4 any good with sales. Metroid Prime 4 Mentioned at Nintendo Direct E3 2021 While we didn't see anything from Metroid Prime 4, it was at least mentioned during Nintendo's E3 show. While it is good that it popped up now to let fans know it'll be out almost two years to the date of when they got the alert, we're calling BS on this. Top of the list is Metroid Prime 4, first announced in 2017 but restarted in early 2019. So of course we're all sitting around asking ourselves whether or not this could be true. That’s plenty to look forward to, but there’s also a list of long-overdue games that have a very good chance of releasing next year - as good of a chance as they had of releasing in 2021, at least.
